Quantum Computing is already here. It's time to upgrade your stack.

We are a team of software architects and Quantum Computing algorithm designers helping technology companies implement Quantum Computing into their software architecture and business model.

Anya Petrova LinkedIn

Anya founded Blue Quantum to help technology companies navigate their way through the complexities of QC world and unlock the full potential of this exciting nascent technology!

She has over a decade working as a Software Engineer for various tech companies in the Bay Area. Her Quantum journey started during her time at Rigetti Quantum Computing (Berkeley, CA) after which she joined Uber's Routing Engine Team where she had an opportunity to design and test Quantum Computing implementations for routing problems.

This experience convinced her that:

  • There is tremendous business potential that QC can unlock!
  • Most technology companies are not aware of this.
  • Even when they are, they don't know which QC companies to approach.

Anya specializes in a Quantum Annealing approach (D-Wave)

Sonika Johri LinkedIn

Sonika Johri has worked in the quantum industry for close to a decade and has authored over 30 publications in leading peer-reviewed journals.
She was a Principal Researcher at IonQ, where she ran the quantum applications research group, and prior to that a Research Scientist at Intel.
She holds a PhD in theoretical physics from Princeton University.

Her work centers around translating the rapidly expanding capabilities of quantum hardware into measurable advantages for end users of quantum computing. She is currently founding a new startup called Coherent Computing.

Sonika specializes in a Gate-based QC approach.

What we do

We help companies explore and implement Quantum Computing applications in their business model and technology stack.
Currently, there are several Quantum Computers on the market, each with its unique advantages: knowing which QC solution will work best in your particular case is not easy, yet is critical to making sure that your business spends its money in the right way as you approach this new technology.

Here is how we can assist you in this process:

1. Exploration: which problems are good for QC?

As the first step, we will seek to identify specific solutions for your business that are potentially approachable with QC methods. We have a good understanding of what's possible and what's not and will be able to advise on how exactly your business could benefit from QC.

2. Proof of Concept Solution

If the exploration phase uncovers a clear set of problems QC can tackle, we will work on designing a PoC solution for them. We will perform benchmark 'reality checks' on small and medium problem sizes to assess the feasibility of potential solutions

3. Production ready implementation

If PoC results and benchmark numbers show that QC solution enhances or outperforms your current approach and is worth implementing, then this is what we will set out to work on next: a production-ready implementation to be designed specifically for your problem which will seamlessly integrate the QC workflow into your current code architecture.

4. Matchmaking with the right QC partner

Throughout this process, it will become clear which Quantum Computer solution would best fit your needs. We have professional relations with all major US-based QC companies and will help you set up a direct connection with them. You are welcome to continue your QC journey with us or transition to working directly with your QC provider.

Which Quantum Computer paradigm is best for your business case?

There are two very different types of Quantum Computers: Gate-Based and Quantum Annealers.
In deciding between the two, it's crucial for businesses to consider the specific challenges they face: while gate-based systems offer a broader quantum toolkit, quantum annealers excel in their niche of optimization and sampling.

Various solutions could be implemented on either or both technologies. However, it's important to compare the complexity of the approach, the quality of results, and costs as the difference in all three dimensions could be substantial.

There also could be many cases where both technologies could offer complementary solutions and a hybrid computation approach will be ideal. We will advise on the best fit for your business case and will help you understand the trade-offs between these two types of QC approaches.

Quantum Annealers

Quantum annealers are specialized quantum devices designed to tackle optimization and sampling problems with a finesse that classical computers can't match. Rather than leveraging quantum bits (qubits) for general-purpose computing, quantum annealers fine-tune the energy landscapes of specific problems, seeking the lowest energy (and thus optimal) solutions. This makes them particularly adept at challenges like portfolio optimization, traffic and network routing, supply chain management, and certain machine learning tasks. For businesses striving to find the best solutions in a vast sea of possibilities, quantum annealers can provide a competitive edge, cutting through complexity with unparalleled efficiency.

Gate-Based Quantum Computers

Gate-Based quantum computers are at the forefront of quantum technology, offering transformative computational power. They operate using tiny superconducting circuits that can exist in multiple states simultaneously—leveraging the principle of superposition. These machines are best suited for tasks that classical computers struggle with, such as optimizing complex systems, simulating large molecules for drug discovery, and enhancing machine learning and AI systems. With their ever-increasing qubit count and improving error rates, gate-based systems are becoming more reliable and versatile. Companies looking to delve into a future of advanced simulation, optimization, and cryptography would find gate-based quantum computers an invaluable asset.
